Somehow the ruler at the top of the screen, that allows me to move margins, which sits just under the toolbar, has disappeared. How do I get it back, esp. when I don't even know what it is called?

Hi
On the menu
dbl click VIEW
You should see RULER
This is a toggle setting, each time you click it the state of the setting is reversed like a light switch
On is with the tick
the dbl click on VIEW causes the entire menu to display rather than clicking on the chevrons to expand.
