    Acc2000 Help Window (Acc2000 SR1a/Win98)

Don't know what I did, but every time I open the Access help window, either through the menu bar or using F1, the help window opens only as a Windows title bar at the top left corner of my screen. If I click the maximize button, it expands the help window as it should. Everything works Ok, it's just an annoyance.

Any ideas on how to correct the initial display?

    Thanks

If you size the window by dragging its handles instead of just maximizing, does that make a difference next time?

Nothing to size, no handles whatsoever. Just the Windows title bar.
Now that I think about it, it started just after having to exit access and reboot windows due to an Out of Memory message. Maybe that hosed things up. You think maybe a reinstall of Access would fix it??

You might try a detect & repair from the help menu first.

    W,

You're not alone. This has just started happening to me also. Upon opening, the Help window is a small, minimized bar in the upper left corner of the screen. I haven't tried to fix it, yet. It's somewhat annoying, however.

Maximize your help window and close it.
Next time you open it, it will be open in a normal (half the screen) sized window.

To add onto what Francois suggested, maximize (or resize) the window, then hold SHIFT while closing it. This works for many Windows apps, forcing them to reopen at the same size the were when last closed.

I had been having the same problem with both VBA and Access Help. I tried Mark's suggestion, to resize the window and then close it holding down the shift key, and it worked!

    Thanks, Mark.

Thanks Mark, that did the trick.
