    Display Error (Outlook 98)

I use outlook 98 for my e-mail and prior to a HDD crash was able to see pasted (not attached) graphics in messages, now the messages are sent in MIME which can be decoded but is a pest, would appreciate assistance.

    Thanking all in anticipation.

Outlook should decode MIME messages automatically and display them as intended by the sender. Something probably needs to be reinstalled. Whether that something is part of Outlook 98 or part of Windows/IE, I'm not sure.

    Re: Display Error (Outlook 98)

I have found AN answer on the Microsoft KB site in message Q271206, I do not know how to send the URL but basically it states that:- E-mail messages may not be displayed correctly when you receive them. This can be caused by many different factors, and is often caused by the mail server.

    Thanks for you effort.

If it worked before, it should work again. Microsoft's answer is fine as far as it goes, but you still might do better by refreshing your installation of Outlook or the various pieces it uses to decode messages.

To post a URL, you copy it from your browser's address bar and paste it into your post between a pair of <!t><!/t> and <!t><!/t> markup tags. Like this:

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-GB;q271206

    Re: Display Error (Outlook 98)

I can understand your first advice re posting a url and in my example following have substituted curly brackets in lieu of the square brackets so a url would look like {http://www.ted.com} but I do not understand how or what you mean by {/url} again with curly brackets would you please explain further.

    Thanks

    Ted
