Like a number of other people participating in this forum, I made the mistake of downloading the Intel driver from the MS Update site and lost use of my CD and tape drives. I did manage to recover by restoring a six-day-old copy of my registry. However, I now have a problem with the Windows Explorer. Upon clicking on a folder in the tree - to view the files inside - Explorer crashes with two error messages: (1) title bar: "Explorer". "This program has performed an illegal op....", and (2) title bar: "Microsoft Internet Explorer". "An error has occurred in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close...." Again, this is the Windows Explorer. Anyone have any suggestions?
