    Outlock Problem (Outlock 2.0 / Outlook 2000 SR-1)

No, I didn't spell the subject incorrectly!

I am using a utility called Outlock which allows you shortcuts to most Outlook functionality, and lets pre-Outlook 2002 users minimize Outlook to the tray.

One of its options is to set which folder Outlook opens with when you double-click on the Outlock icon. I set it to my Outlook Today - Mailbox folder. The problem is (with Outlock) is that when it opens Outlook, it opens to the Outlook Today folder, but the "Show Folder Homepage" is disabled - even if it was previously enabled by default.

This program is freeware and is now unsupported. One thing I found about it was in the registry, it has the key: DefaultFolder set to the String Value:
    00000000AE6C83A3631ECB43977A12FAFFFC516C01000252DA 9D658BBD46880B050E509B3CC500000443D8DF0000

I am connected to an Exchange Server and was wondering if this string means anything to anyone. Is there a way to modify it so that "Show Homepage" option is on and my Outlook Today loads. Would anyone know?

Does anyone have experience with Outlock and has similar problem?

I appreciate any and all help.

    Thanks,
    Chad

P.S. It is otherwise a great little utility (especially for the price) and can be downloaded from: http://www.eldblom.dk/path/

    Re: Outlock Problem (Outlock 2.0 / Outlook 2000 SR-1)

I am sorry I don't have a solution for your problem - I have a different problem with Outlock.

I have Outlock running at startup and I get the attached error messages (I get the Outlook has crached message first, then the second one appears) - any ideas on what the problem is?

If I run Outlook manually, then run Outlock, and then close Outlook every thing works fine, but of course the idea of Outlock is to stop you having to load up Outlook <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Sorry. I have not seen your problem before. I have Outlock located in my Startup menu and all goes well. What if you enable or disable the option in Outlock to show Outlook on startup?

    Sorry I can't help more.

I tried emailing the creator but he won't respond... doesn't want to support the program.

    Re: Outlock Problem (Outlock 2.0 / Outlook 2000 SR-1)

I just looked at something and realize that I have both Outlook and Outlock in my startup menu. I don't know if it matters or not but Outlook comes after Outlock and the Outlook seems to be a special shortcut for Outlook (whereby you can't change the target or anything)... like what Outlook puts on your desktop when it installs.

    Hope this helps.
