    Access Autonumber (Access 2000)

Is there anyway that I can have Access Autonumber starting from 1001. To my knowledge, I can't, but I haven't tried, nor would I know how, to write VBA or another simpler and perhaps elegant solution.

Take a look at Access help.
Look up AutoNumber, then "Change the starting value of an incrementing AutoNumber field".

You can use an append query to create a record with the starting number you want (actually, you need a number 1 less than the number you want).

However, if you are concerned about the value of the field, then perhaps you shouldn't be using an autonumber! With autonumbers, you will have missing numbers from time to time; so if this is a problem, then use a custom counter.
