Exporting memo to text file (Any, I think)

I have a need to export a query to a text file. This all works well, except for two probs, which I'm sure people have come up against before:

    1. One of the query fields is of type memo, and only the first 255 characters are exported. Is there another way to achieve the same end? Some of the memo fields contain 3 or 4 thousand characters. I understand *why* it does this, but would like it not to, in this case! 8-)

    2. When I import the text file somewhere else, the software can't distinguish (quite reasonably) between the actual end-of-line characters at the end of each record, and the end-of-lines inside the memo fields. Any ideas?

As always, any assistance greatly appreciated

This question has been asked many times. Try doing a Lounge Search on MEMO and EXPORT for previous threads.

Are you using quotes to differentiate text fields in your export file? Even so, some other software may have problems. You only solution may be to replace the embedded linefeeds with a space.
