Mail Merge Protected Forms (Word 2k, 2002)

Anybody know of any decent workarounds to the problem of not being able to mail merge a protected form? We had to do this programmatically.

Heaven forfend that one would want to email a survey.

No real work-around. How about emailing a survey attached to the email? (i.e. the email is a merge, with an attachment) Don't even know if this is possible, just babbling.

I tried from Outlook. The only mail merge I could find was using Contacts. I wanted to use an external data source. In fact, Outlook help leads you in the direction of using Word's mail merge. Still baffled as to the rationale behind protected forms being *so* protected. :-)

Are you merging data into a protected section? Can you use section breaks and unprotect the part of the document you're merging into? If so, does it help?
