Want: Drag and Drop Program for CD-RWs

Hello:

I would like to use CD-RWs as backups.

I plan to continue to use Microsoft Backup as my backup program; but I also need a program--ideally, it would integrate with Windows Explorer--which will let me drag and drop and delete files from the CD-RW.

Any such programs out there for Windows 98 or XP?

A standard installation of DirectCD which may have come packaged with your CD-Writer will allow you to drag and drop files onto CD-RW as well as CD-R. DirectCD is a component product within Roxio Easy Creator software package. Alternatively your CD-RW may have come with Nero 5.5. which includes InCD, another packet writing product. However, InCD will only write to CD-RW and not CD-R.

Either product will write to CD-RW, however, IMHO, I would use Roxio's DirectCD in preference.

Actually, I do have Adaptec Easy CD Creator (ECDC) 4.0. Alas, only the deluxe versions of ECDC include DirectCD.

I think I'm going to purchase the latest version of ECDC, which is 5 Platinum, but in the meantime, where can I find Nero 5.5? Is Nero, perchance, free?
