    Wanted: Mind Mapping software

Anyone who uses mind mapping knows how useful it can be. I'm looking for really good mind mapping software. If you have a favorite, please let me know what you use and why you like it. I've used Visio and, quite frankly, it kinda sucks at this sort of thing (and I LOVE Visio).

For those unfamiliar with mind mapping, the idea is to brainstorm some ideas (usually on paper), then link them together in themes or some other sort of catagorization. The visual linking helps you identify missing pieces or processes and create a more organized view of complicated things. (Well, that was a pretty pathetic explaination. Can anyone improve this?)

Go to http://www.mindmanager.com. This company is the original and follows Tony Buzan's philosophy of mind-mapping. My recollection is that the software is reasonably priced, too.

Your explanation is pretty spot on.

    Re: Wanted: Mind Mapping software

Since adding to this thread, I've explored my version of MindManager 3.5 a little deeper. It has a exceptional export to HTML option that will produce a high quality website instantly from your mind map. I've just recently downloaded a trial of version 4.0 and it looks even better still. And Version 2002 is now out...

I've been using a mind mapping program called Ygnius that is incredibly easy to use, reasonably priced and turns out beautifully formatted maps with very little effort. They have a 30-day free trial at http://www.ygnius.com

If mind mapping=concept mapping then try going to
    http://cmap.coginst.uwf.edu/
    for a free solution.
