I've looked at MS's Technet page, searched for information, and didn't really find anything explaining what Proxy server does, what the client does, and how it all works. Does anyone have a URL to a good explanation of these things?

Thanks for the information. I guess I'm mostly interested in how and what MS Proxy Client works/does, as I am unsure.
I'm not sure if you're interested in details on what the MS version of Proxy Server does, but in general, they cache web pages locally to serve them up for network users. They act as a one-way in and out box for internet access on a network.
