    Creating Wizards (Word 2000)

I'm looking for recommendations for a book that covers creating Wizards in depth. No doubt Woody covers it in one of his magnus opi, but which one? :-)

Other book recommendations welcome or pointers to good articles on the Web. AFAICT the stuff in MSDN is a bit sketchy, but I may have missed the relevant stuff.....

A wizard is nothing more than a regular Word template file, with code to load and close the wizard automatically, say, in ThisDocument module of the wizard.

Wizard files are ordinarily named with a .wiz extension.

Word comes with a bunch of wizards. Search your drive for the .wiz extension.

If u need to learn about Word VBA, take a look at the list of Word VBA books at my URL below.

Actually, I had exactly this question myself about two years ago!!! I looked around for ages on how to do it and have it look right, and finally ran across everything I needed to know (including complete code) FREE on Microsoft

    Link added by Mod.

Okay, here is where to go to find it. I couldn't find the downloadable .wiz file, but I'll keep searching for it. Here's where I found it:
MSDN Home > MSDN Library > Microsoft Office 2000/Visual Basic Programmer's Guide > Part 2: Developing Office Solutions > Chapter 11 - Add-ins, Templates, Wizards, and Libraries > Creating Wizards

    Good Luck

    Thanks.

I'd managed to find this on the MS site before, but it was a bit sketchy. :-)

If you do find the downloadable .wiz file, that would be fantastic......

Time to start taking those provided wizes apart me thinks.

    Thanks for you help.

    Re: Creating Wizards (Word 2000)

Okay, I found it. From the MSDN site, type wizform.frm in the search field. The only article that comes up will be the original WhitePaper that I found with the attached file "wizform.frm". Let me know if you have problems with it, and I can see if I can't get it and send it to you.
    Good Luck

    Wonderful!!!!

Thanks so much. That is just the ticket.

How big a difference is there between the Word97 & the Word2K object models?

I've just discovered that the client needs a PowerPoint wizard too........

    Ho hum......

    Thanks again.
