Password retrieval

Loungers

Ok so I have been tinkering with my settings, and I realized that I do not recognize the password I used for the lounge?!

So is there a way I can retrieve, or simply change the password to something else without disturbing something else?

Thanks

Presumably you haven't logged out, or you wouldn't be here to post!

Just go to your profile - the icon when you click on Controls. You can change it there.

Before you log out and forget....Check the (admin) email address you have in your profile is correct, then when you try to log back in you can ask for a new password to be emailed to you.

Re: Password retrieval

Leif, I take it that this password is not user-defined, set by the Lounge? Reason I ask is that I am going to totally rip my disk and start from scratch and I tried changing the password, but it seems to still be the same number of characters. Trying to get all my stuff in order before I and my hard drive and chunk the little feller into the .

Re: Password retrieval

From memory, when you sign up a random password assigned is emailed to you. You can then go into your Control panel and change it to something of your own choice.
If you have not changed it, it will still be whatever was originally set.
If you do change it and you have Remember-My-Passwords set up on your PC, I believe you get the standard 8 asterisks - "********" - auto-entered. If your password was only three characters, anyone looking over your shoulder would see just "***" and know they only had to crack a 3-character code to get in as you.
In other words, I would expect it to appear as the same number of characters.

Re: Password retrieval

My experience is the same as Leif's. The number of asterisks is not dependent on the length of the password. (This is the same case with Exchange Server for example.) Also check out the length of the asterisks on Verify Password. If they were dependent on the length of your password, the two would be the same.
