Sending Outlook Calendar to Desktop (Outlook 2002)

Running XP Pro after interesting experience where RC1 timed out and downloading a Virtual
Machine Update crashed the expired Beta so that I couldn't boot up from the hard drive, RC1,
or XP Pro's CD Rom. Next time will put winver.exe in the command line to learn the second it's
going to time out or run on different machine or hard drive so I don't cut it so close.
Want to send Outlook's Yellow Today Calendar that looks like a small legal pad to my
desktop as a shortcut for convenience of not taking the time to Open Outlook and find it.
I have done it before several times but can't remember how. Outlook's toolbar doesn't have
a simple File>Send>Shortcut to Desktop as does IE.
    Many Thanks,

Try something like "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeOUTLOOK.EXE" "outlook:Personal FoldersCalendar" in the Target box of the shortcut. HTH

so you want ot open outlook to the calendar? or have the calendar on the desktop?

to open outlook in the calendar, you can either set it to always open to calendar or use a shortcut:
from the help file, the switch to append to the shortcut is
    /select outlook:foldername

That's the same advice that's in the Help file. On the machines I use CW & IMO, it simply opens up an new mail item with the shortcut as an attachment - which is why I posted a URL inclusive of the name of the Personal Folders file (default or renamed - depending on your setup).

Thanks- Simple Search for Outlook Calendar Got It

Thanks MJ/Unkkamunka--Good Web page with good commands--will work with it.
In the middle of trying to find correct file path, I just did search for "outlook calendar"
and it comes up without any file extensions and from there I just right clicked and sent it
to desk top--now on my quick start. Am going to work with the rest of the files also, and
use your other suggestions to see how they work out.

Thank you a hundred times! That is the very information for which I have been searching this Lounge all afternoon! I knew it would be here somewhere!
