    Deleting Macros (2000)

I created a macro in a worksheet which I no longer need. I deleted the macro, saved and closed the file. However, when I open the file again, I get the dialog box that asks if I want to Enable or Disable the macros. If I deleted the macro, why would I still be getting this message?

    Any Help?

    Nancy

You need to delete the module it was in as well - did you do that?

To delete the module where your macro code was follow these steps:

    1) Goto the VBE (Alt+F11)
    2) Goto the module that had the code.
    3) Highlight that module and from the File menu in the VBE select <font color=red> Remove </font color=red> some module name usually Module 1.
    4) Answer No to exporting the module first.
    5) Save the workbook and you should be OK.

In the VBE the Project Explorer should be in the top left hand corner. Locate your file. There should be a folder saying Modules. Highlight the specfic module and then choose File|Remove on the Menu Bar. HTH

    Re: Deleting Macros (2000)

Alt-F11 will open the VBIDE for you. On the left you should see the project explorer - a bit like windows explorer - but I guess if you've deleted the macro you know this. Locate your workbook in this window and expand everything. You should see a folder called modules and in this you will see - probably - a module called module1. right click on this and you should get a view similar to my attachment. select the remove option and hit "no" when asked if you want to export. Then save the workbook, close and reopen. You should find that you no longer get the warning, but if you do, let us know.
