Header and footers in a shared workbook (97 sr2)

We have a shared workbook that one of the user with access updated the headers and footers. She saved and closed the file. the other users then entered the workbook, but they did not see the changes to the header and footers. Does Excel not allow other users to have the updated headers and footers? Is there a trick that we don't know about? Thanks in advance.

There should be no reason for the header/footer changes not to be saved. All that I can think of is that the user hit Save As instead of Save, and saved the updated workbook in another directory, or really didn't do the save. Have you tried it again from the same PC? Did it happen again?

Yes we did try it again. I even checked to make sure they were all loading the same file from the same location.
