    DRVSPACE

I have "acquired" an APTIVA computer with WIN 95 and a 4.5 GB hard drive which is partitioned into three drives. I want to reformat C and load WIN 98. I get a message that Drive C is a compressed drive and I should use DRVSPACE to format the drive. I don't want to retain the compressed drive and would rather just format the drive and start over. My WIN 98 BOOT DISK won't let me use the FORMAT command however. It directs me to use DRVSPACE. Can I get around this or use FDISK somehow?

Yes FDisk will allow you to remove the partitions and create new ones. Make sure there isnt any data on the drive first.
