Message too big to send (2000)

I have a message stuck in my outbox that is evidently too big to send. When I click on it and try to delete I get the message that MAPI is already in the process of sending the message. While this is trying to send it is pulling my computer to it's knees.

How can I delete this message so that I can get back to life as normal?

    TIA

I think the answer is to change your connection setting (temporarily) from automatic to manual.
    Stop and Re-start OL.
    Delete, Reset and Re-start

Thanks. I ended up recreating my .pst file and then reimporting the folders. The only problem I had with this is that I then imported the same file from my outbox. But since I had shut down my connection (always on) I was able to delete it before it started causing problems again.

    Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the help. I just created another email profile and then imported my folders from the old .pst
