    Display names (XP)

In Outlook XP, on Windows XP:

Where is the display name for an email address stored? It is not stored in the contacts folder.

    I'm trying to:

1 - Change the display name permanently. SOmeone replied to someone on an email with a number of names and changed the display names to funny names - now whenever I start that email address, the autocomplete picks it up, but it picks it up with the funny display name - where can I go to permanently edit this?

2 - Delete another person entirely. It's not someone who is even in my contacts list. I know Outlook gathers the names of people who you email or have emailed you - but where is that info stored?

    Any ideas?

In contacts, the display name is listed beneath the email address. There is a separate display name for each email address of the contact.

    Re: Display names (XP)

You guys did not come up with the answer - but I found the answer by posting on Microsoft.Public.Outlook:

Display names are stored in the Contacts Folder as the "E-mail Display As"
field. You can add that field to a list view of your Contacts using Field
Chooser to see it. You can also access it by double clicking in the e-mail
    field in the Contact record.

To delete an entry from your autoresolution (nickname) file, type the name
that brings up the resolution, then use the down arrow to select the
recipient you want to remove and hit the Delete key. The nickname file
cannot be edited directly. or you can clear the entire nickname file and
start over. This MS KB article may help:

I take it you weren't interested in this post or this one which emerge on searching the Lounge using keywords such as "nickname" and "clear".
