Invalid field definition (Access97 SR2)

I've got a user who gets an error "Invalid field definition XXX in definition of index or relationship", where XXX is the field name, when they are trying to link to some Oracle tables
- the common point seems to be the Oracle field is larger than 255 characters, so Access is making the linked table field of type Memo
Of course, this works fine on my PC

I recollect seeing something about this, but I can't find it now. I think it was a bug in an older version of MDAC, but would appreciate some confirmation

Nope, the reason for the error was the fields had changed in size alright, but someone had put an index on the field. Oracle can cope with the indexing of a >255 character field, but Access can't
