How do you create a disconnected recordset using ADO?

The easiest way is to create a connection object in code and open the connection. Then use that object to set the ActiveConnection property of a new recordset object. After the recordset has been opened, set the connection object to Nothing. That leaves the recordset open and active but disconnected.
