    Cell/Selection Outline Color (2000)

    Is there any way to change the color of outline of the selected range? In my book, I have one sheet which functions sort of as a splash screen. Background is set to black and various text and picture is displayed. When the user selects a cell, the cell is outlined in white.

    Can this color be manipulated or are you stuck with opposing (or whatever the term is - dia"something" I think!) colors?

    I do not know of any way to change the colour of the outline but there is a workaround.

    If the sheet is purely used as a splash screen then you can lock it so that no cell can be selected. You can also limit the scroll area on the sheet to stop the user scrolling off the splash screen.

    Firstly you need to protect the sheet that includes the splash screen.
    In VBA, enter the following procedure in the ThisWorkbook section (I have assumed the relevant sheet is named "Splash")

    Private Sub Workbook_Open()
    Sheets("Splash").EnableSelection = xlNoSelection
    Sheets("Splash").ScrollArea = "$a$1"
    End Sub

    Thanks Tony, I wasn't even aware that enable selection existed!
