Page and Section Breaks (2000 SR1)

Where is the option to hide both "page breaks" and "section breaks" so they don't appear in any document I'm working with?

Try turning off 'show/hide' - all.
If you want paragraph marks, tabs, spaces, etc. go to Tools/Options and select the View tab. Under Formatting marks, make sure 'all' is not checked and the appropriate boxes are checked.
Continuous sections breaks will still be represented as a line.

    Good luck,

    Bob,

Sorry, but I'm a bit confused, i.e., lost? hehe I can't locate the "show hide all" that you referred to. Secondly, the "all" under Formatting marks is unchecked. Before I had to reinstall Office 2000 SR1 these Page Breaks and Section Breaks didn't appear in my documents. It's been years since I've had to deal with this issue and I can't remember how I got them to not appear back when. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Doesn't it depend too on which view of your document you are using? In Print Layout view, you can suppress seeing page and section breaks as suggested. But in Normal view, they still show.

You are correct sir! I'm so used to being in Print Layout view I assume everyone else is too... and you know what happens then.... <img src=/S/moon.gif border=0 alt=moon width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15>

    KTYorke,

Thanks..... duh! That's all it took was to click that "show/hide all" button on the Toolbar. And the page/section breaks are not displayed; in "Normal" view either. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

OK, now I'm confused (a permanent condition). Page & section breaks should show up in normal view, even if show/hide turns off hidden text, etc. Are you saying you do not see page & section breaks in normal view when you turn off show/hide? I see them (on my computer, not yours) <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

You aren't <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>! You are correct, at least in describing what I see. In "Normal View" there are no page breaks nor sections breaks. There is the dotted line that is displayed showing a break. But the page and section breaks that are displayed with their respective text are not displayed. <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

Yes, I use Print Layout view all the time too, but I suspected Pilgrim might have been in Normal view.
