    Combo box problem (Access 97/SR2)

With combo boxes I have used so far, when a letter is typed in, the dropdown list scrolls down to the first instance of that letter.
However, I not have a combo box that displays a code field & description field and is bound to the code field. I'd like the auto scrolling to take place on the 2nd field i.e. If an entry in the field looked like this:
    Field1 | Field2
    1 London
Pressing L would drop the list to this record, as opposed to 1.
Is the only way of doing this, switching the fields in the design view of the table so the dropdown would read: London 1
Or is it possible another way?

Hope I've explained that okay, bit of a weird one! Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Phil,
You can either change the order the combobox retrieves the fields in by altering its rowsource, or hide the code column by setting its width to 0.
    Hope that helps?

That should do the trick - completely forgot you can use a query instead of a table for a dropdown - spent 3 weeks doing somebody elses job and i've forgotten so much!!!!
    Thanks for the reminder Rory.
