'Out of Memory' error when sending e-mail (Outlook 2000 SR1)

Lately, when trying to send and/or reply to an e-mail that has a few small inserted images, I get an error message which I have attached. I'm running XP Home with 512 megs DDR RAM, so this is more than puzzling.

To preserve the e-mail I then save it, which puts a copy in my Inbox and a copy in Drafts. The copy saved to the Inbox is void of the images but the Draft copy is complete. If I open the Draft copy and click "Send" it is sent without a problem?

    Okay, I'm open to suggestions!

I suspect that this problem doesn't actually have anything to do with the amount of physical RAM that you have on your machine.

Try clearing out all your Temporary folders for starters and see what effect that has.

Out of Memory errors are popular.

I missed Q290634 the first time through, it sounds like the likely cause.

    MaryJ,

That looked like a "goodie", but unfortunately those settings in "Options/Mail Format/International Options" were already set to "Western European". But I thought I'd try setting them to the "User Define" just for the heck of it (hey, can't hurt), and give that a try.

If that fixes the problem, I'll be sure to return and let you know. Give me a couple of days to send out a few e-mails with inserted images and my digital signature, which seems to cause this to happen more than inserted images. hmmmmm!!

Thanks to you and the rest for the help thus far.

    Re: Update

Well, things are better! I experienced this error a couple of times after changing the "International. . ." settings back and forth a couple of times. But all has been working well since then. I wouldn't be so bold as to say the problem is fixed, but so far so good! hehe Viva la Windows! .
