    AutoComplete in Word 97

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off AutoComplete for dates but leave it unchanged for words and phrases. The latter is very useful but the former comes up at the most inappropriate times and can be a pain.

Any help you can offer gratefully received.

    Many thanks

Sorry, these are joined at the hip and can't be separated. The autocomplete goes to autotext and the date is apparently built-in.

It hasn't annoyed me because I never type dates followed by the Enter key. I use templates for my letters that have a CREATE date field in them formatted the way I want.

See http://www.addbalance.com/word/datefields1.htm for information on how to handle date fields.

See http://www.addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm for more on templates.

If you want a menu that gives you different kinds of date fields that can be inserted into documents, download the legal toolbars from http://www.addbalance.com/word/download/index.htm. This is a self-documenting global template.

You might also find use for the letterhead system downloadable from the same place.
