    Cascading deletes (A97 SR2)

When I start to delete a record from a table, and if there are child records in related tables with 'Cascading deletes' set to True, Access usually warns me that I am about to perform a cascading delete.
In one of my databases, Access just warns me that I am about to delete a record. No mention of related records. It does delete the child records, however.
I have tried deleting and recreating the relation between the tables, and importing the tables into a new, empty database. No difference.
Any idea about the cause of this behavior and/or a solution?

    Thanks in advance, Hans

    Hans,

If you're still using Access 97, I'd encourage you to upgrade to either 2003 or 2007. Perhaps the problem you encountered has been resolved in the newer editions...

    I'm sorry! I just couldn't resist.

I am not used to seeing the warning message.

By changing options I could get it to appear. The one that needed to be set was Confirm Record changes.

However I did also find this warning.

It's all water under the bridge - it happened in just one specific database in Access 97 seven years ago, in 2002. The database has long since been converted to Access 2000 format, and the problem doesn't occur there.

    But thanks for your reply!

My question is how did we miss answering this 7 years ago?
