Windows XP Joining a Domain (Version 2002)

Is it possible to join Windows XP to a domain running Windows NT 4.0? I get an error "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. I have DHCP enabled and I'm able to get an IP address from the DHCP Server. The domain name, WINS, & DNS are entered correctly which I verified using ipconfig /all. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated...

Yes, it should join, assuming you are using xp pro. since it appears the computers are talking, you should have the same protocols on both already, but double check, just to be sure.

are you just entering the domain name in system properties or are you using the network wizard?

I'm using XP Pro and the protocols are the same. I have tried both ways network wizard and system properties (member of domain).
