    Create new user

I have a win2k machine with only an administrator set up. I want to create a new user (not an administrator)and initially have them have access to all existing programs with possible changes later - is there an easy way or do I need to re-install all software once logged on as the new user
    TIA

I think all you need to do is to got to "Settings, Control Panel, User Account" There should be a mke new user or some thing like that.

It has been a will since I have had 2K up and running on my machine, but I think this is how it is.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Re: Create new user

Its not the creation of the user thats a problem ;its being able to "steal ' all the links, settings etc from the Administrator currently set up while not setting up another administrator

    Re: Create new user

After creating the new user you can copy the things you want to preserve from
    Documents and SettingsAdministrator...
    to
    Documents and SettingsUsername

OR if you want to create more than one new username then Before creating them you can copy to
    Documents and SettingsDefault User

This will let you preserve Send To, Start Menu, Desktop, Application Data etc.
