    Remembering Passwords (XP Home Edition)

New computer with XP OS. When I try to pick up my email in Outlook Express, it dials my ISP and remembers my password. However, it will not remember my email account password. In Outlook Express, under account properties, I enter my email password and check the box that says remember. If I try to get my email immediately, it will remember the password. However, when I close Outlook Express and come back to it, it does not have my password saved.

I am not sure if this problem is with XP or with Outlook Express.

I too have a new computer with XP OS, and am having the same problem with passwords. I think this must be an XP problem as I do not use Outlook Express. This makes for a bigger problem for us as it is not so easy to correct. Sorry. <img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15>

    What accounts are you using?
    And what type are they?

    What ISP are you using?

I am using MSN Hotmail. No trouble accessing through MSN, but often try to read it while using IE6. this is where I have the problem. I keep ticking the Keep Me Signed In Box, but it never does. Hope this is all the info you need. Thank you.

There seems to be problems with MSN when on uses MSN explorer and then use IE to read their mail. I think it is a MSN problem and not a Winodws XP issue.

Most people can NOT get to their email with IE if they have used MSN Explorer, because it gets changed to internet type of email vs pop3 type.

Thanks for your help. It`s nice to know where the problem lies. Thank goodness it isn`t my fault this time!
