    Weird font changes in IE6 (6.0 2600)

    Recently, text has begun to display oddly in IE 6 AND in Netscape Navigator 4.72. I think this happened after I downloaded the latest IE security update, but I also made some other changes on my system. The image at shows how text at displays. I have been all through the font settings in Windows but don't see anything odd. The affected pages use style sheets generated using StyleMaster Pro 1.9, and the worst-affected characters also have a [b] tag, but I didn't change anything in the style sheets. Only fonts in browsers appear to be affected.

    Re: Weird font changes in IE6 (6.0 2600)

    Looks fine in IE5.5 SP2/Windows 2000 SP2. The relevant style definition is very straightforward:
    <hr>body, p, td, li
    {background-color: #ffffc6;
    color: #000000;
    font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;
    font-size: 13pt}<hr>
    Does 13 point Times look okay in Word (which doesn't use IE for rendering)? Is it also messed up in an HTML-format Outlook message (which does use IE for rendering)? Maybe a refresh of IE6 is in order.
