PERSONAL.XLS (EXCEL 2000(PART OF MS OFFICE))

I followed your steps, but when I tried to record, it said "unable to record". Then, I went into Visual Basic, there were no open projects in the project explorer. When I tried to do it over, there was no way that the computer would allow me to make a macro or edit/write anything in the Visual Basic Editor. Just so you know, we all share our microsoft office 2000 and excel xp from a shared server. I think this may have some affect on my ability to form and use my personal.xls workbook. Also, what should I save it as -- a template, workbook, etc.?

Mille: You didn't get this posted as a reply to my last message to you, but I think that it was meant for me.

It sounds like your IT Department has Personal.xls in a read only directory on the server. From your description, it also sounds like they have somehow locked down macro writing. I'm afraid that you are going to have to contact them for help.
