    Totaling (2000 Sr1)

    Hello!
I could really use some help! I have a report I completed for our teachers. Each report has the students in that teachers class along with a total for number of students. I would like a total for this field: field name is Sex and the values are M or F and this field is on the report. I would like a total for the males in the class and a total for the females in the class. The report breaks after each teachers name so they only receive the information pertaining to their class. I have been beating my head against my desk for something I am sure is quite simple and I just can't seem to figure out. I have tried DSum and Sum and all I get is an error message. Could someone please lead me in the right direction?

Thank you for all your help!

    Re: Totaling (2000 Sr1)

Use two unbound textboxes in the footer of the Teacher group.
In the control source of the textboxes enter
    =Sum(IIf([txtSex]="M",1,0)
    and
    =Sum(IIf([txtSex]="F",1,0)
Pay attention that txtSex is the name of the control in the detail section and not the name of the Field in the contol source of this textbox. They have to be different
