    FTP Transfers (Word XP)

    We have a text document located on an FTP site that I want to open in Word.

    When I record a macro to do this, an FTP login dialog box appears that lets me sign in to the FTP site. The macro records the 'document.open' command, but the login box must be external to Word as no code is recorded for the dialog box.

    If I run the macro, it errors out with file/path not found as the code apparently doesn't trigger the dialog box.

    Anybody have any knowledge on how to either bring up the dialog box via code or anonymously log into the FTP site via code?

    Thanks

    Does it help at all to change from Document.Open to using the dialog?

    With Dialogs(wdDialogFileOpen)
    .Name = "ftp://host/doc.doc"
    .Execute
    End With
