    Autocomplete woes (2002)

When I begin to type a name (say "sam") into an new email, Outlook 2000 completes the name (actually completes it as "Sam's email". Fine. But when I go to post the email, I get a dialog box saying "Outlook does not recognize Sam's email". Outlook put it there in the first place. I have to choose show more names, and sure enough, "Sam" is selected. Is there anyway to get Outlook to remember this?

I only have one email address for Sam.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

    e.

You could try reviewing earlier Lounge posts concerning the "nickname" file used to resolve partially entered names.

Thanks - I did do a search before posting, but used the term "autocomplete" which was not correct.

    Cheers,

    Re: Autocomplete woes (2002)

I just downloaded the ol2knick utility and it suggested that I have no nickname cache. Indeed, I did a search for "*.nick" and nothing came up. And there is no such file in:

    Focuments and SettingsepiphaniusApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook

    So my problem remains...
