adding lots of text in TextBox (xl2000)
I have a big legal disclosure statement that I currently put in a text box that came from the Drawing toolbar. This works fine but the user needs to scroll way down the sheet to get to my Accept/Reject buttons. I want to put this same text in a "regular" textbox from the Controls (ActiveX) toolbar so that I can add scroll bars and keep everything within one screen area.
Problem. How can I get all this text into that ActiveX text box? I keep running into errors that say I can't concatenate that much text. I had a string variable that I kept appending the text to and it eventually exceeded its limits (txtLegal.Text = "legal stuff goes here")
I also tried writing the text to a range of cells and doing this:
<pre>txtLegal.LinkedCell = "$C$1:$C$31"</pre>
This only shows the first set of data, in $C$1. The text is more than will fit in one cell. I can't use any 'special' controls as I want to only stick with the basic set of Excel controls, no extra references items.
There has to be a way to get lots of text into a text box, right? I'm sure it's something obvious but I can't see what it is.
Thnx, Deb <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>

Re: adding lots of text in TextBox (xl2000)
No one's responded so presumably no one's got a definitive answer for you; but it does sound like you're bumping up against an intrinsic limit for text in that type of text box. Can you quantify the number of characters you get put in the box before you get the error message?
