    Line through zero (2000 SR-1)

Is there a way to make Word display the zero (0) character with a line through it? As I write technical papers with letters and numbers in the same string, I'd like be able to make a better distinction between zeros and the letter "O." Thanks.

Tried this? Overstrike characters using EQ field. You can assign it to AutoCorrect abbreviation, AutoText, and/or a keystroke macro to make entry quicker.

I would recommend searching for a typeface that displays the zero with a strikethrough. Surely there must be hundreds out there.

Having said that, I don't have any typefaces installed that display the zero this way but you can certainly buy them. The Letraset web site has at least one font family with both variants. I found this link on their site http://www.letraset.com/features/gallery/t...s/tiresias.html

Or, the other way, slash thru the letter O, instead of zero.

Preference is a matter of religion, or whomsoever is paying for the work.

Following on from Leif's suggestion, zero is Chr(48), whereas the capital equivalent with a line through (Nordic alphabet) is Chr(216). You should be able to set up a macro that sweeps through a document and replaces one with t'other - or, better still, intercept the keystroke on the fly. If, on the other hand, you set this up using AutoCorrect, you'll need the keystroke combination of Alt + 157 (on the numberpad - not the top key row). HTH
