    Formula problem (Excel 2000\ SR1)

I am having trouble with formulas in Excel. An example: I have a list of 10 companies in column A, in columns B and C I have data for these companies. I total the two columns of data into column D, then try to run simple calculations on the data. For instance, in column E for the first company in Row 5., =B5/D5 to get a percentage the calc works fine. But if I try to drag the cell down to copy the formula for all the companies, instead I get the same number in all of column E for each company, the formula doesn't recalculate. So I've tried =B5/$D5 to set the column, no difference, still doesn't work. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, I'd REALLY appreciate any help.

    Thanks,
    Troy

Any chance of your posting a (slimmed down/expurgated if necessary) copy of your workbook? From what you're saying, it is hard to see where you're going wrong.

    If the formula is correct:
    =B5/D5
    =B6/D6
    =B7/D7
    etc....

check Tools/Options/Calculation ~ Calculation is Automatic
