'Little Green Folders' on XP?

I am using "Little Green Folders" on my Win 98SE machine and wondered if this little utility will work on a XP machine? To install it, you have to use another utility called, "My Properties" but on their home page it does say that it is designed to work on Win 95/98 and not on NT. So, I'm just wondering if anyone has successfully installed "Little Green Folders" on XP?

Re: 'Little Green Folders' on XP?

I'm the guy that developed the green folders - not the MyProperties application, just created the green folders. I think MyProperties will work in WinXP but the nature of the icons is such that the old green icons would not look much good. I've been looking for a good icon editing program to create a green set of the open folder icons, where the set matches the existing XP icons. There is such a range of colours in the existing icons that the colour change exercise is quite tedious. I've captured out a set of the existing open folder icons to work on (using Microangelo) but time is the enemy. If I complete the exercise I'll mention it in my Font Pharos column in Woody's Windows Watch. The short answer - the open folder icons can be changed but you need a good looking substitute to make the exercise worth while. If someone else has the time to create the icon set I'll happily give them credit.

    Peter,

Thanks for responding. I just might go ahead and try installing "Little Green Folders" along with "MyProperties" (just to install Little Green Folders) on my XP machine. I can't imagine that the green would be THAT objectionable??

    Thanks,

Check out the thread I started in General Windows Solutions - Woody's Green Folder.

I'm using it in XP Pro and it looks just fine.

    Jeff,

I'm also using "Green Folders" on XP Pro, had no conflict/problem with installation, and it looks just fine...

    Thanks RJ,

I went ahead and installed "Green Folders" on my XP machine too and it works and looks good to me! It's funny how little amenities such as a green open folder can add so much eh? But simple things for simple minds I guess!
