    Intercepting incorrectly addressed email?

I have been asked by our Audit department if it's possible to intercept email addressed to invalid recipients. What they would like is for incorrectly addressed email to either be sent to a specific mailbox, or for the NDR to be customised to include an alternative address like sysops@domain.com.

I've never heard of this being done - does anyonw know if it's possible at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

exchange doesn't support catch all addressing, which is what you need. You have two options - set up a smart host and forward the mail to a mail server that does support it. or use a script to allow a catch all address. I believe there is a script at http://www.CDOLive.com that does catch all accounts in exchange.

Here, we don't send NDRs and have them go to the admin mailbox and one of us checks it daily. (Some people use a public folder for the admin address, then limit the people who can access the PF.)
