    Reappearing Reminder (OL2000/Exchange 2000)

We have a mystery. One of our attorneys keeps getting a reminder message for an appointment that has been deleted. If you click "Open" to try to see the appointment, you get the message "Cannot open the item for this reminder." You can't snooze it, because the message no longer exists. Even if you dismiss it, the reminder message reappears several times a day. Needless to say, it's frustrating for him.

Has anyone run into this before? Any suggestions? Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

start outlook using the command line switch /cleanreminders

in the start menu, run dialog, type (or browse to) the full path to outlook, followed by /cleanreminders

Many thanks, MJ. Does that have any ramifications with respect to other reminders - legitimate ones, I mean? Or does it only clean-up reminders that have not appointment attached?

it cleans out the reminders and rebuilds the list. New ones won't be a problem, i'm not sure how it handles old ones that have not been dismissed - it's supposed to keep them, but i've lost a few now and again and i'm pretty sure cleanreminders did it, not an accidental dismissal.
