    Excel Add-ins Don't (MS Excel 2k, VBA 6.0)

Home-grown XL Add-in has started to raise the following error dialogs on XL open, add-in selection or de-selection :

    -
    Errors occurred during load
    -
Can't Load Or Unload this object
    -
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file [file path]. There are several possible reasons:
    * The file name or pathname does not exist.
    * The file you're trying to open is being used by another program.
    * The name of the workbook you're trying to save is the same as the name of another document that is read-only.
    -
Unfortuately, remedies suggested do not apply: same error appears regardless of add-in location; no other users accessing files (localized machine); not trying to save.

Add-in has worked on own and other machines in past. Add-in uses code from John Walkenbach's Power Programming to create and populate new pull-down menu. Beyond that code, there is nothing particularly remarkable from programming perspective. Unfortunately, can't think what might have changed about Add-in or box setup.

Have tested add-in on other boxes in same network with no problems.

Have tried rebuilt intialisation routines of add-in in new file; no errors arose on own box.

The only thing unique to own box compared to others in same network is presence of VB5 on own box.

Anyone seen this problem before? Thoughts on where to look for the cause?

    Re: Excel Add-ins Don't (MS Excel 2k, VBA 6.0)

    For the Group's information:

Could rebuild add-in completely, excluding forms, with sucess; problem associated somehow with MS Forms controls.

At same time, similar problems appeared around organisation. Solution was to re-register the MS Forms 2.0 library (fm20.dll).

Have included MS Tech Note that solved the problem. Thanks to IT department for solution (haven't got enough hair to keep tearing it out)
