    Tracking Problem (2000)

I know Woody is addressing this stuff in his newsletters these days, but a friend of mine received a Word document which tracks changes, and he wants to know how to turn Tracking off. Can anyone please help?

    Thanks!

Normally, it is a simple matter of using Tools|Track Changes|Highlight Changes... and unchecking "Track changes while editing." If a password has been used to require the tracking of changes, such passwords often will be removed by saving the document as RTF, closing it, and re-opening the RTF version.

The nasty thing about track changes is that often users set Word to not display tracked changes, but they still will be around until you accept or reject them.
