    Remote Machine Names (XL97; SR2)

Is it possible to identify remote machine names via their IP Address? I'm looking for the same functionality of "NBTSTAT" in VBA code.

    Thanks,
    John

    Try:

    ping -a ip.address

I don't recall what that -a swtich does, exactly, where it looks or what it queries, but it often returns the host name.

Thank you for the advice. This works well inconjunction with "CMD" but I was wondering if there is something in XL's vba code where I could return the host's name in a cell.

    Thanks,
    John
