    RegEdit

I can't find the Registry Editor, regedt32.exe, on my hard disk, or even on the Windows 98 installation CD. How can I get a copy of that program?

The Windows98 registry editor is REGEDIT.EXE. It is in win98_46.cab

    Re: RegEdit

Further to Stuart's reply, REGEDT32 is the WinNT/2000 version of the registry editor. The chief difference is that it supports different data types, and more importantly, the security model of the NT based operating systems. You should never need this version of the registry editor in 9x versions of Windows. Oh, yes, and it's also far kludgier to use than REGEDIT.

    Re: RegEdit

Thank you very much. It was a MS KnowledgeBase article (Q229940) that told me to use Regedt32.exe. The introduction said the information was for IE 4 to 5, using Win 95, 98, and NT4. No mention that in Win 98, you use REGEDIT.
    Thanks again.
