ACPI Error (Windows XP Pro)
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this problem, which I get whenever I boot up my Windows XP Pro:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: ACPI
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4
Time: 8:41:06 PM
AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0x71), which lies in the 0x70 - 0x71 protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.

Re: ACPI Error (Windows XP Pro)
ACPI stands for Advanced Configuration & Power Interface and makes possible, for example, shut down your computer when you shut down Windows.
Probably your version of BIOS is not compatible with Windows XP or Power Management settings in your BIOS are in conflict with Windows XP.
Check your computer/motherboard vendor web page for BIOS update; check your BIOS Power Management settings; check Windows Device Manager for hardware conflicts.
