Picking up an address that needs changing (Word2000 9.0.3821 SR1/Win95A)

A contact has recently changed offices. Any idea on how to set up a prompt so that whenever Word sees "1, Main Street" in a template or a letter, it asks if you mean "1, South Street", perhaps with a dialog explaining "Smith, Inc, changed address April 8, 2002"

Word's built-in AutoText and AutoCorrect features require that you do something near a phrase in order to substitute it, so neither of those would be very helpful. You could create a macro to look for this, but at what point would you want it to run? Perhaps at print time? Then you could do something like this:

    (1) Conduct a Find in the document for the old street address
    (2) Ask user if she or he wishes to substitute a new address
    (3) Do what the user wants
    (4) Proceed to the print dialog

    Does that seem convenient?

Alternately, if you keep all your Smith, Inc. documents in one folder, you could write a VBScript to run through them and add a comment to each of them so that if you or someone else were to copy them, they would see the comment.

Hi and thanks for the ideas. The find macro triggered at a certain event, like print, was an idea I had considered. I like the VBS idea too.
