    Column Matching (Excel 2000)

    If I have two columns with ID numbers and I want to lookup each column and find if there is a match (same id #'s) in both columns and if there is I want that ID # to go to a new sheet column, how would I write that formula? Is it possible?

    Re: Column Matching (Excel 2000)

    If one column is in A1:A40 and the other is B1:B50 then you could put the formula below in C1 and fill it down to C50.

    <pre>=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(B1,$A$1:$A$40,1,FALSE))," ",VLOOKUP(B1,$A$1:$A$40,1,FALSE))
    </pre>

    ..and then you could sort column [C] to place all the matches together
