    Linux crossover to Office

    Hi all,

Read this from ZDNet about Codeweaver's CrossOver Office and was wondering if anyone here had tried it. Have been really itching to try Linux, but a must would be running Office under Linux.

    Re: Linux crossover to Office

Crossover Office does not provide a demo or trial version, but the reports I have gotten are that it works well. It is a refinement of the WINE (www.winehq.org) project.

You may also wish to try the free OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org). It is in version 1.0.1, but it is the open source version of Star Office 6 (staroffice.sun.com). OpenOffice comes in Windows and Linux, as well as other flavors. It opens and saves files in MS office formats.
