Two instances of database running on same machine

We are attempting to do training on a new Access database for one of our departments. During training, one of the PCs came up with the following error message:

"You may not have two instances of this database running on the same machine.

Please exit the other instance of this database and then try again."

However, there are no other instances of the database running, and only one individual is logged in. The problem has also spread to the other three machines in the training room now so we can't train at all....

    HELP!!

Thanks Brian, but we had checked that. We did find out what the problem was though (I'm pretty sure...). The database was created by a third-party. The third-party wrote into the programming a blurb whereby it logged the COMPUTER NAME so the user name and computer were intrinsically linked. Once you logged into the database at one computer, that's the only place you could access the database. Needless to say, we've deleted that function!

Terrific, glad you're up and running.
